Wilfred Sanderson was a native of Leeds, Yorkshire. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment in the French theatre of war from 5 November 1914. Sanderson was ‘awarded the Military Medal for gallantry and devotion to duty on the night of the 17-18th November [1917]’ (copied article included with lot refers)
