Edward Spackman attested for the Royal Field Artillery on 1 November 1915, and served with the 56th (Reserve) Battery, Royal Field Artillery during the Great War in both Salonika and Palestine. He was hospitalised suffering from malaria in November 1916, and transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 25 May 1919.

Peter McDonald was born in Stockton-on-Tees, Co. Durham, in 1895 and attested for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps on 11 September 1914. He served with the 7th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 3 August 1915, and was taken Prisoner of War on the first day of the German Spring Offensive on 21 March 1918. Released on the cessation of hostilities, he transferred to Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 11 April 119, and subsequently re-enlisted in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps on 25 February 1920.

Arthur H. Best attested for the Army Service Corps, and served as a Sergeant with the 25th Railhead Supply Detachment. For his services during the Great War he was Mention in Despatches (London Gazette 10 July 1919).
