O.B.E. London Gazette 13 June 1946: Colonel (temporary) John Manby (I.A. 248), 7th Gurkha Rifles, Indian Army.
John Manby served in the Indian Army from 1919 to 1947, and saw active service with the 1st/7th Gurkha Rifles in Afghanistan and Waziristan. He subsequently served on attachment to the 2nd Assam Rifles.
