Consular Guard Officer’s Sealed Pattern Forage Cap and Cover Dated 1895, the cap of stiffened blue material and roughly of 1857 pattern, a broad band of gold lace, a frontal badge depicting St. Edward’s crown within laurel wreaths all in bullion, the front peak embellished with a deep gold lace border, leather sweat band, red moroccan lining with retailer’s details L. Silberston, Regent St., London W, the foul weather of black oilskin, the attached label is printed ‘Royal Army Clothing Department 1895 Standard Pattern’ thereon hand written details mostly illegible, attached blue cloth panel with triple wax seals, all gold lace and bullion decoration is oxidised otherwise in good overall condition £160-260
