Military General Service 1793-1814, 6 clasps, Ciudad Rodrigo, Salamanca, Vittoria, Pyrenees, Orthes, Toulouse (Henry Bell, Royal H. Arty.) nearly very fine £1000-1400

Provenance: Glendining’s, May 1903 and November 1942.

Henry Bell was born in the Parish of Igman, Stirling, and was enlisted into the Royal Horse Artillery at the age of 19 on 30 July 1806, a miller by trade. He served in the Peninsula in Lieutenant-Colonel Macdonald’s “E” Troop and was discharged 30 September 1814 from Lieutenant-Colonel Gardiner’s Troop, ‘being unfit for further service, is placed on the Reserve List at six pence per diem commencing 1 October 1814’.
