Henry Stephen Leonard entered the Royal Navy for war service as a Temporary Roman Catholic Chaplain in 1943. The Reverend Leonard served at H.M.S. Orlando, Grennock, Scotland, from July 1943, and was placed on the permanent list in 1948.
