49th (or The Princess Charlotte of Wales’s or Hertfordshire) Regiment Officer’s Shoulder Belt Plate c. 1820 - 1842, a very fine and rare example,a rectangular gilt back plate with silver overlays comprising crowned title strap enclosing the numerals ‘49’ and a Union spray, three battle honours below and to the sides of the title strap (Parkyn 387), complete with original leather liner this with trade label ‘C.Smith late Smith and Trimnell, 12, Piccadilly, Gold Laceman to Their Majesties’, one corner edge knock and the leather liner with some shrinkage otherwise in very fine condition
