Henry Thomas Atkinson was born in Poplar, London, and attested for the Middlesex Regiment at Willesden, Middlesex. He served with the 16th Battalion during the Great War, and died of wounds on the Western Front on 9 June 1917. He is buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
