Charles I (1625-1649), Oxford mint, Pattern Shilling, 1644, unsigned [by T. Rawlins], in silver, mm. small Shrewsbury plume on obv. only, bust in armour with lion’s head on shoulder, rev. Declaration between scrolls, three Shrewsbury plumes above, date and ox below, lozenge stops both sides with group of four before rev. legend, 5.25g/9h (Morr. F-9; SCBI Brooker –; N 2712; S –). Struck on a full flan but flat in places, nearly fine on obverse, good fine on reverse, extremely rare
