1st Somersetshire Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Green Cloth Helmet c. 1880-83, the skull complete with all silver plated fittings, the frontal plate of crowned star pattern with laurel overlays and central strap ‘1st Somersetshire R.V’, in the centre on a ground of black velvet a gilt bugle horn with mural crown, the plate is original to the helmet, buff leather sweatband with silk lining, the silk lining part detached otherwise very good overall condition £500-600
