British War Correspondents’ Sketch Book, in pen and ink, apparently belonging to a War Correspondent who covered the 1884 Egyptian Campaign to relieve General Gordan at Khartoum and the Afghan War, with various ink sketches, including Colonel Stewart’s wrecked steamer on the rocks at Sulammanich on the Nile; the Madhi’s hut; a dead native after the Battle of Gemizah; Osman Digna’s hut & courtyard; moving a field gun up a hill at Kotal, Afghanistan, Black Mountain Expedition. Also very interesting drawings from the Apache War of 1886, Arizona rangers, Apache warriors, Colt revolver, US Infantry in Winter Dress 1891 &c., plus other military & civilian subjects, good condition £120-160
