Henry Vandome was born in Bethnal Green, London, in 1891, and enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery at Stratford, London. He served with the 34th Battery during the Great War in France from 30 September 1914, and was awarded the Military Medal. He was killed in action on the Western Front on 5 August 1917, and is buried in Dickebusch New Military Cemetery Extension, Belgium.
