China 1900, 1 clasp, Relief of Pekin (3694 Pte. P. Coll, 2nd Rl. Welsh Fus.) edge bruise, good very fine £360-400

Patrick Coll was born in Edgehill, Liverpool. A Labourer by occupation and a member of the 4th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, he attested for the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at Bury on 14 September 1892, aged 19 years, 4 months. Posted to the 1st Battalion, he served in India, March 1894-November 1896, during which time he was twice tried by court martial and received terms of imprisonment. Posted to the 2nd Battalion in November 1896, he served in Malta, November 1896-April 1897; Crete, April 1897-August 1898; Egypt, August-September 1898; Crete, September -December 1898, and China, December 1898-December 1902. For his services he received the above medal. Discharged at Wrexham on 13 September 1904. With copied service papers.
