Sydney Eversett was born in Cardiff. A Clerk by occupation and a member of the Severn Division Royal Engineer Volunteers, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry at Cardiff on 6 February 1901, aged 24 years. Posted to the 1st (Wiltshire) Company 1st Battalion Imperial Yeomanry, he served in South Africa, February 1901-August 1902; being discharged on 3 September 1902. With copied service papers.
