18th Century Tokens, YORKSHIRE, Leeds, Henry Brownbill, mule Halfpenny by an uncertain manufacturer on a Boulton blank, bust of Bishop Blaize right with wool-comb, rev. wheatsheaf, edge payable at h brownbills silversmith, 11.35g/6h (DH 42). Obverse weakly struck up, otherwise virtually as made, the reverse with heavy striation marks but with glossy patina, of the highest rarity; superior to the DH plate coin which may be the only other specimen known £200-300

Absent from all the major auctions of tokens since Hamer; the Norman 374/Hamer 459 piece is presumed to be that illustrated in DH. The present specimen may be the same token as that in lot 510 of the Davis sale, 1901
