Indian Mutiny 1857-59, no clasp (Wm. Hobbs, 64th Regt.) suspension refitted, contact marks, some edge bruising, nearly very fine £200-250

William Hobbs was born in Soham, Cambridgeshire. A Labourer by occupation, he attested for the 94th Regiment at Bury St. Edmonds, Suffolk on 21 May 1844, aged 18 years, 4 months. He volunteered for the 64th Regiment in February 1854. He served 16 years, 9 months in India and was discharged at his own request at Manchester on 26 June 1865. At the time of his discharge he was in possession of one Good Conduct Badge, an Indian General Service Medal with clasp for ‘Persia’ and an Indian Mutiny Medal without clasp. His intended place of residence was stated to be Soham. With copied discharge papers.
