CENTRAL AFRICA 1891-98, no clasp, fitted with straight bar suspender (621 Pte. 2/ C. Africa R. Presented by the King) the whole officially engraved; AFRICA GENERAL SERVICE 1902-56, 2 clasps, Gambia, Somaliland 1902-04, this last clasp loose on ribbon (621 Pte., 2nd C.A.R.) contact marks andpolished, therefore good fine and rare (2)

A small contingent from the Central Africa Rifles (later K.A.R.) came to England for the coronation celebrations of King Edward VII, and were personally presented by him with their Central Africa Medals. The few examples seen have all been officially engraved.
