Owing to the fact the ‘Gulf’ clasp was primarily awarded to Royal Navy personnel engaged in the Armilla Patrol, examples issued to Army personnel are extremely rare - in this case the recipient being one of 16 men from 43 A/D Battery, R.A., who were actively employed in H.M.S. Fearless in the period February-May 1988; sold with an M.O.D. letter confirming entitlement.
