A Great War M.M. group of three awarded to Lance-Sergeant H. S. Bell, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, who was killed in action while serving in the 12th Battalion in July 1918

Herbert Sydney Bell, who was born in 1894, was awarded his M.M. in respect of gallant deeds as a Lance-Corporal in the 10th Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Subsequently transferring to ‘B’ Company of the 12th Battalion as a Lance-Sergeant, he was killed in action on 19 July 1918. He was buried in Le Grand Hasard Military Cemetery at Morbecque; sold with original M.M. and British War & Victory Medal forwarding letters.
