Walter Gould was born in London, England, on 21 December 1887. A Labourer by occupation, and having served for two years in the ‘London Territorials’, he enlisted in the 29th Battalion at Vancouver in November 1914. Similarly employed at the time of his death in action at the battle of Thiepval Ridge on 26 September 1916, he was buried in the Adanac Military Cemetery, Miraumont; sold with copied service and other papers.
