Kings of Mercia, Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, East Anglia, later type, Hereberht, bust right, coenvvlf rex m, rev. cross moline, hereberht, trefoils of pellets between most of the letters, 1.25g/6h (Naismith type E9.4; cf. BLS 101-2; cf. N 364; S 920). A little weak in places, the flan slightly wavy, otherwise good very fine, excessively rare £2,000-2,500

Hereberht is a known East Anglian moneyer but Naismith records only one specimen with the cross moline reverse. Cross moline coins of finer style are known from the Canterbury moneyers Tidbearht and Werheard (BLS 40-1)
