Charles Edward Jepps was born in Hackney, Middlesex and enlisted at London. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry, he entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 14 August 1914. He was killed in action on 17 September 1914, aged 28 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the La Ferte-sous-Jouarre Memorial. He was the son of William and Henrietta Jepps of 64 Prout Road, Upper Clapton, London. With copied m.i.c. and casualty details.
