522 Sergeant Peter Campbell served in the Cape Town Highlanders during the Bechuanaland Campaign, 1896-97. He was awarded the medal and clasp on 5 February 1907. He enlisted as Trooper 1147 in Brabant’s Horse on 19 January 1900 and served at Wepener in April 1900. He was discharged on 19 January 1902 with the rank of Regimental Sergeant-Major. Five days later he enlisted as Trooper 1253 in the 2nd Imperial Light Horse. He later served as Trooper 727 in Royston’s Horse, 18 April-3 August 1906.
