Temporary Lieutenant R. Haworth, King’s Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment) was awarded the Military Cross London Gazette 26 July 1918: ‘T/Lieut Robert Haworth, R. Lancaster Regt.’
‘For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He led two bombing attacks against the enemy, who were established in a trench close to our line, on both occasions inflicting heavy casualties and stopping the enemy's advance. He was wounded in defending the trench against an enemy attack.’
