Thomas Hickey was born in Looe, Cornwall, on 8 June 1846. He entered the Royal Navy on 8 June 1864 and was awarded the L.S. & G.C. Medal in 1874 when on the Impregnable. He attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer in October 1878 when on the Renard and was Pensioned Ashore on 8 June 1884. With copied service paper and roll extract.
