c.1850. IRELAND. Order of the Friendly Brothers of St. Patrick, a copper-gilt medal, unsigned, St. Patrick’s Cross fixed in a heart, crown above, reverse arms of the Order, 31mm. Extremely fine, scarce; suspended from a silver-gilt cross, set in the centre with a ruby-coloured heart-shaped stone and a green ribbon for wearing (£80-100)

Sold with a photocopy of part of The Fundamental Laws, Statutes…of the Friendly Brothers of Saint Patrick, Dublin, 1856, in which the purpose of the medal is fully stated
