Muster rolls reveal that James Stillwell enlisted in the 95th Rifles direct from the Middlesex Militia in October 1808, and was embarked for Portugal in No. 1 Company of the 1st Battalion in September 1810. So, too, that he was thrice confined to the Guard House in the following year.
