Thomas Hinksman, born and enlisted Felling-on-Tyne, 15th Battalion, killed in action, France & Flanders 21.3.1918, first day of the German Spring Offensive. The C.O. of the 15th D.L.I., Lt. Col. H. W. Festing was also killed on this day. Sold with extracts from the War Diary.
James Dalrymple, b. Kennoway, Fifeshire, e. Denbeath, 1/5th Battalion, killed in action, France & Flanders 28.7.1918. Age 20. Commemorated on the Soissons Memorial. Casualties of the Battalion on the 28th July were 225, of which 14% were killed. Sold with extracts from the War Diary.
