George Mitchell, e. Aberdeen, 4th Battalion, killed in action 8.12.1915. Age 29. Buried Spoilbank Cemetery, Zillebeke, Belgium. Sold with an extract from the War Diary, “About 10 a.m. a considerable number of shells dropped round Chester Farm and one man (Webster - a cook) severely wounded on right leg by H.E. shrapnel. One man (Mitchell) killed and another (Logan) seriously wounded at the entrance to Pear Tree Walk about 2 p.m. by a Whiz Bang.”
