Æthelwulf (839-858), kings of wessex, Æthelwulf, Phase 4, aedelvvlf rex, bare headed bust right, rev. edelnod moneta on and between the limbs of a beaded cross,1.22 gms (BMC xvii; N. 618; S. 1051; SCBI Mack 107). Hairline fracture extending from edge of coin to inner circle surrounding head, otherwise good very fine, rare (£300-400)
