Henry Charles Mowbray Howard was killed in action at Loos on 29 September 1915. He was educated at Wellington College and the R.M.C., Sandhurst. He served with the Expeditionary Force in France, was wounded in April 1915. He was mentioned in despatches by Sir John French London Gazette, 22 June, 1915.
