The Boer War and Great War group of five to Captain H.C. Davies, Welsh Regiment, who was killed in action in September 1914

Sold with two War Office condolence letters dated 29 March 1919 (1914 Star) and 22 September 1921. It is interesting to note that these both give his rank as Lieutenant whereas the various Memorial books show his rank as Captain.

Captain Harold Casamajor Davies was killed in action on 26 September 1914, while attached to the 2nd Bn. Welsh Regiment. He is buried in Vendresse Churchyard in France. Born in 1879, he joined the Welsh Regiment from the Militia as 2nd Lieut. in March 1900, and became Lieutenant in February, 1902. He served in the Boer War, being present at operations in the Transvaal.
