France, France, “La Defense de Foyer”, a bronze plaquette, by E. Boisseau, 1915, standing figure representing ancient Gaul, facing right, in a posture of defiance, a broken sword in his left side, sheltering two frightened children, reverse, plain tablet at top, below arms, si vis pacem para bellum on smaller tablet beneath. Extremely fine
