Robert Thomas Raines was born in Castle Rising, Norfolk and enlisted at Hunstanton, Norfolk. Serving with the 4th Battalion Coldstream Guards, he was killed in action (states died in ‘Soldiers Died’) on 15 September 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
