A good C.B.E. group of six awarded to Brigadier-General R. D. Vizard, Manchester Regiment, subsequently Ceylon Planters’ Rifle Corps

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, C.B.E. (Military) Commander’s 1st type, silver-gilt and enamels; Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (Lieut., 2/Manch. R.); Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 3 clasps, Defence of Ladysmith, Orange Free State, Belfast (Major, Manch. Rgt.); King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps (Lt. Col., Manc. Rgt.); British War Medal 1914-20 (Brig. Gen.); Khedive’s Star 1882; together with an unnamed struck silver medal, inscribed ‘Ceylon Planters Rifle Corps’; usual contact wear from star to first medal, back straps removed from Q.S.A. and K.S.A. to facilitate mounting, the campaign medals professionally cleaned and mounted court style, very fine and better (6)
