MILITARY MEDAL, G.V.R. (22629 2. C1.A.M., No. 46 Sq. R.F.C.); BRITISH WAR AND VICTORY MEDALS (2.A.M., R.A.F.); DEFENCE MEDAL, good very fine and scarce (4)

M.M., London Gazette, 13 March, 1918. The following citation was extracted from the records of 3rd Brigade, Royal Flying Corps, dated 21 December 1917:

'This Driver did good work assisting to salve machines during the recent operations. On November 29th at the Sugar Factory on the Bapaume-Cambrai Road, although everyone else in the neighbourhood was under shelter, he repaired a puncture and also a hole caused by shrapnel in the radiator of his car, whilst the area was being heavily shelled and gassed. A second tender was blown up by a shell, and through this man's efforts the two parties were able to leave the shelled zone before casualties had occurred.'

167 Military Medals and 2 bars were awarded to men of the Royal Flying Corps.
