DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT MEDAL, G.V.R. (8200 Pte. J. Dodd, 3/K.R.R.C.) good very fine

D.C.M., London Gazette, 23 June, 1915. 'For gallant conduct and ability as a scout. One day during February this man, on his own initiative, crept out close to the German trench beyond St. Eloi and took some compass bearings. Private Dodd always volunteers for dangerous work and has set a very good example under heavy shell fire, and on other occasions.'

Private Dodd was killed in action on 10 May 1915.
