Theatre and Entertainment, London, Royalty Theatre, 1790, a uniface copper pass, First Gallery, 37mm (D & W 35/374 [dated 1799]; MG –). Tiny rim nick at 6 o’clock, otherwise good very fine, extremely rare (£100-150)
The Royalty Theatre, in Wellclose square, Whitechapel, was opened in 1787; its productions were chiefly burlesque and pantomime and the theatre had a chequered life until suffering a fire in 1826
