FRANCE, Junon et Psyché, 1899 [issued 1900], a bronze medal by F. Levillain for the SAMF, robed figure of Juno holding the severed head of Argus, dripping blood, peacock at right, rev. naked female representing Psyche seated under tree at the entrance to the underworld, head in her hands, the dog Cerberus barking at right, 47mm, edge stamped 283 (Maier 2; PBE 565; Coll. R. Marx 91; ANS Exh. Cat. 1910, p.309, 22; BDM III, 426; cf. Baldwin 90, 1960). Softly worked, very fine, rare £200-£260
