Pair: Private S. Alder, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, who was wounded whilst serving with the British Expeditionary Force and evacuated to Ireland, where he died of wounds on 28 November 1914

Sidney Alder was born in Oxford and attested there for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. He served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 1 September 1914. Wounded, he was evacuated to Ireland, and died of his wounds at the Buttevant Camp Hospital, Cork, on 28 November 1914, aged 20. He is buried under a C.W.G.C. headstone in Cork Military Cemetery Park.
