Henry Wheeler attested for the Oxfordshire Light Infantry on 29 March 1906 and served with the 2nd Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, during the Great War on the Western Front from 14 August 1914. He was discharged on 10 October 1918, and received a Silver War Badge, no. B.25043.
