Golfing Medals, the Property of Gary Alliss

Gary Alliss

Gary Alliss, the ‘King of Swing’, is a third-generation English professional golfer, following in the footsteps of his grandfather Percy and father Peter. A PGA Master Professional and PGA EuroPro commentator, he turned professional in 1973 and was the resident pro at numerous prestigious clubs, including The Belfry, Trevose Golf Club at Padstow and Ladbrook Park Golf Club at Tanworth-in-Arden, Solihull. Much in demand as an after-dinner speaker, Gary also formed an important collection of the coins of King Stephen, and of the associated Civil War and Anarchy, dispersed in St James’s Auction 3 (October 2005).
