Beilby Richard Lawley, 2nd Baron Wenlock (1818-80); served in the Yorkshire Hussars, rising to the rank of Colonel; MP for Pontefract 1851-2; succeeded to the barony and the family estate at Escrick, 1852; Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding of Yorkshire 1864-80. He married Lady Elizabeth Grosvenor (1824-99), daughter of Richard, the 2nd Marquess, on 28 November 1846 at St George’s, Hanover square, London.
