England, Earl of Manchester, 1643, a cast silver badge, unsigned, armoured bust facing three-quarters left, rev. Montagu arms, coronet above, wreath border of two narrow rows of laurel laeves on both sides, 31 x 26mm, 14.50g (Platt type E; MI I, 309/137; E 143A var.). Possibly removed from a ring-mount, some light scratches, otherwise good very fine and toned, rare £300-£400
