Thomas Hollinrake Dochar was born in Heptonstall, Yorkshire, in 1892. He served during the Great War with the 2nd Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment and was awarded the M.M. in 1918. The London Gazette carrying the announcement of his M.M. together with the Schedule Number indicates an award for the German Spring Offensive on the Somme in March and April 1918. Following the war, Dochar returned to Yorkshire.
