Thomas Lovell attested for the South Wales Borderers and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War in the Gallipoli theatre of War from 10 May 1915. He later served in the Labour Corps.

Arthur Tufft attested for the South Wales Borderers and served with the 7th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 5 September 1915. After a short period in the lines N.E. of Albert this new battalion was sent as part of XII Corps to the Balkans, arriving in Salonika in mid November 1915. He transferred to the 8th Battalion and was later admitted to the 66th Field Hospital in Salonika on 14 October 1917 and afterwards sent by sick convoy to No. 31 Casualty Clearing Station. He was discharged on 16 May 1919.
