C. A. S. Hall served with Gorringe’s Flying Column during the Boer War from 21 January 1901, and was discharged on 8 April 1901. The Column operated in Cape Colony against numerous Boer Commandos, taking part in a fast moving game of cat and mouse.

Sold with copied medal roll which confirms initials.
