M.B.E. London Gazette 25 October 1955:

‘In recognition of distinguished services in Malaya during the period 1st January to 30th June, 1955.’

M.I.D. unconfirmed.

Thomas Sharman received an Emergency Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the General List, 23 March 1944. He advanced to Lieutenant in September 1952, and Temporary Captain in June 1955.
