6th Dragoon Guards (Carabiniers) Officers’ Sabretache Badges and Horse Furniture, Other Ranks Helmet Plates c. 1881 - 1914, comprising gilt brass sabretache badges QVC and KC, this pattern 1900 - 1901 only, two solid brass bit bosses Guelphic crown and Imperial crown both with title ‘Sixth Dragoon Guards’ enclosing crossed carbines, a solid cast unmarked silver QVC plate of similar outline to the sabretache badge but of smaller size (three original heavy gauge silver loop fasteners); 1871 pattern other ranks helmet plate of standard format being an elongated white metal star with brass Garter Proper overlay enclosing a white metal ‘6th’ upon a black patent leather ground, a very rare Foreign Service regimental helmet plate in two part gilding metal being an elongated star with Garter Proper centre enclosing a slip-over ‘6’; a large flat hall marked silver item (London no date letter) displaying the Imperial crown over crossed carbines unit title and number one screw post fastener soldered behind the crown, possibly taken from a piece of Mess furniture, wear to the central area of the first bit boss otherwise good overall condition (8) £240-340
