Arthur Hubert Holmes Thomas died on active service on 27 January 1940, while serving in the destroyer H.M.S. Jupiter, which ship was then operating with the 5th Destroyer Flotilla out of the Humber. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Plymouth Naval Memorial; the above described forwarding box is addressed to ‘Mrs. F. M. Thomas, 61 Winchester Street, Taunton, Somerset.’
